Permits
- A building permit gives you legal permission to start construction of a building project in accordance with a set of approved drawings and specifications.
- A permit is required for all new construction, remodels, accessory buildings, sheds, garages, finishing of a basement, decks, solar, fencing, pools, sport courts, driveway reconfigurations or placements, rock or retaining walls over 4 feet, changes in electrical service and/or gas lines.
- Building applications will be reviewed after a complete application is submitted with all of the required documentation. Submittal requirements and instructions can be found under Permit Checklist’s
Applying for a Permit
You can now apply for ALL City Permits (Accessory Buildings, Pools, etc.) online. Please visit the City Inspect portal to get started.
Please note that plans will be considered officially submitted once the building deposit has been received by the City.
A 3% processing fee is applied to all credit card transactions.

Scheduling Inspections
- Scheduling an Inspection: To schedule an inspection, please login to the City Inspect Portal.
- To Request a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, please use this Form.
- A Certificate of Occupancy will be issued after the final building and zoning inspection is passed for all new homes. A Certificate of Completion will be issued upon completion and final inspections, if necessary, for all other permits.
